TV Hung above Fireplace Is Ludicrous

This age of technology has brought a lot of issues that affect out health both in physical and mental perspectives. Smartphones, tablets, laptops and TVs are so attracting that we rarely draw our attention away from the screen. And the worse that could be done in this regard is getting into a stressful posture to make the impact of these techs even severer. One of such practices is hanging a television above the fireplace.

It is understandable that you don’t want to affect the design pattern on the other walls; there are so many reasons that you shouldn’t do this practice.

Too high screen

Tilting the neck in order to consistently watch something at an unusual height definitely brings strain and stress to the back of the neck, ultimately causing neck injury. Sitting on a couch and watching too high on the wall consistently isn’t an enjoyable thing to do.

The bigger screen above fireplace

Fireplace is important not only because of its importance but also because of its looks. This is the reason that we use so many options to decorate the area around and above the fireplace, e.g. we use faux stone panels and other stone tiles. The TV of big size and wider screen can undermine the importance of fireplace and all your efforts that you would make to decorate the area around fireplace.

You wouldn’t want to clutter up your fireplace

While only a TV may still look good, you would realize your mistake of using the area above fireplace for TV when there would be a need of putting other equipment related to your TV, e.g. a gaming console. Nevertheless, there are several other options that you can consider to make a better arrangement.

  • Putting the TV next to fireplace is the better alternate as compared to hanging it over the fireplace. For this purpose, you can empty the selected area by removing decorative items and hanging the TV at an appropriate height. A table under the TV would best serve the purpose of place other equipment related to TV. As a matter of fact, you can call that portion the TV corner.
  • If you are not finding a suitable place to put your TV, you can utilize the library area. The big shelf in this regard is the perfect spot where you can put your TV.

While we are talking about hanging the TV, it would be even better if you don’t put the TV in that room at all. Since we have enough of the screens of small and large size around us, it wouldn’t matter much if there would one less item, and that too is something which is nothing more than an accessory.
